Motocross is an off-road motorcycle sport in which up to 40 participants race for victory on a short circuit at the same time.
The routes are usually between one and four kilometers long and are prepared with bumps, jumps, and washboard-like passages.
The technically demanding route design largely avoids high speeds. Depending on the competition, the race lasts between ten and 40 minutes.
In addition to the classic open-air motocross races, there are many other event formats. The technically more demanding competitions in Supercross (SX) are mainly held in halls or stadiums in small spaces, while in Freestyle Motocross (FMX) the aim is to show the most spectacular jumps possible.
In addition, NMFA promotes junior competitions, so the national titles are also awarded to juniors, for motorcycles with sidecars and quads. Even the smallest motocross fans can prove themselves on the handlebars. Participation in a child-friendly series event is possible from the age of six.
